| Natalia's
wedding, April 7th 2007, Arizona, USA
|
Natalia
Guseva , now Natalia Owens, cuts the wedding cake with her
husband.
Natalia is happily married
to a nice American man in Arizona. Natalia's adjustment to
American culture was very easy as she is fluent in English
and she had extensive experience working with American clients
at A Russian Romance in Sochi, Russia.
She is working towards US certification as a
psychologist, specializing in international marriage counseling.
Her goal is to help international couples through the transition
process critical to building strong happy marriages.
She is no longer part of staff of ARR's staff but she continues
to give FREE consulting for ARR couples. Through her years
of work at ARR, she made many friends with A Russian Romance
couples currently in the in the USA. Below is the letter she
recently sent to Inna at A Russian Romance:
Dear Inna,
It’s my special pleasure to write this letter to you.
As you know I got married and live in the USA now. I married
a wonderful man and we are very happy. Thank you for your
congratulations and present for the
wedding!

I am writing
to share my experience with our ladies and men clients. But
first of all, I want to thank you personally, and all my co-workers
and all our lady and men clients for the great four and a half
years of working in ARR. I have learned a lot during these years
and I am very thankful for your support and trust in me when
I had difficult times and your valuable advice now when I am
in the USA. I really appreciate it.
When working in the agency I have met many varied people and
I learned a lot from them. They all were a big influence on
me. Thanks to ARR I realized what a rewarding job it was to
help people to meet each other.
International married is truly a great thing and it does work.

in Old Tucson , June 2007 |
Now I know
it through my personal experience. The work in “A Russian
Romance” made me think of receiving an education in the
USA and becoming a specialist in clinical psychology, marriage
counseling.
I am really excited about this opportunity and now I am working
on it. My husband fully supports me, he is terrific. And I am
really glad that I have the opportunity to go on cooperating
with our agency. I really miss my work and thank you, Inna,
for giving me the opportunity to continue developing my professional
skills.
I have been corresponding and staying in touch with many
of our ladies who are now living in the USA and those who
are just getting ready to come over here. The latter are excited
and apprehensive, because it is

a truly difficult
and serious step to make. And I understand that. But if you
have an open mind and are ready to expend the effort, then you
are eventually rewarded with a wonderful family and feel happy.
I personally think that I have been blessed with my husband
and my American family, they are awesome. They welcomed me with
open arms and I really appreciate it. I have noticed that many
Americans are very curious about Russia and we are alike in
many ways. I got adjusted very fast and had no problems with
communication. People are nice and warm here and I smile even
more now! You will say that one of the biggest advantages of
mine was my ability to speak English. And you will be right.
It is very important to be able to speak the language, and it
is a number one priority for a woman who is engaged to a foreign
man and who is planning to move to his place.

It is in the US when the two people start really learning
about each other. That’s why it is very important to establish
relationships at the very first stage: when you get engaged
in her country. Regular correspondence and telephone calls are
very important. I know that ARR gives all opportunities for
its clients to have them. A woman needs to know that she is
coming to a man she can trust who will support her in the new
and unknown (for her) place. This is what I have gained from
my personal experience, as well as from the conversations with
our married couples.
It is important first of all for a lady. I know that our lady-clients
have a great opportunity to study English with Natasha, our
English teacher. I have seen it working for those who were willing
to work through it.
But besides that, one has to be positive about this tremendous
change, get ready for some challenges in the new country (which
turn out to be solvable) and realize that this change is not
only about you, but also about your husband who is as excited
and anxious as you are. He is legally responsible for his wife
to be, and it’s important for a woman to morally support
him. The good thing about a Russian woman is that she takes
the responsibility for what is going on in her life and does
not expect her husband to solve all her problems. It is certainly
not easy for her to come to the place where she knows nobody
but her fiance. It is hard for her to start talking to people
in a foreign language and she can get frustrated sometimes,
so lots of mutual patience and real love and care for each other
have to be developed during the first months of your life together.

It is a double responsibility for both
a man and a woman if children are involved. The good news is
that American men are mostly very good husbands and fathers.
They just need to know that their wives love them and appreciate
their efforts, and will be there for them in joy and sorrow.
Well, I do not think that I have said anything new for anybody,
but it was nice to visit with you, even though virtually, Inna.
I will close my letter now, please, say my big hi to Julia and
her
family, Nastya, Natasha , Dima and all our friends in Sochi.
Please, take care,
Love,
Natalia

Above, Natalia worked for many years
in our Sochi office. She was the voice of A Russian
Romance to so many of our men clients. She counseled
with them before they traveled to Russia, and cared for them
when they arrived in Sochi. Below, one of our successful married
clients took the time to write to us about his experience
with Natalia:
Hello Inna,
I wanted to write you and share with you my regards for Natalia
Guseva.I wish to say that she is by far one of your most valuable
employees and was directly responsible to helping me and Tatyana
come together. I would say she played a
critical role for us to work though this process.
Her skills as a psychologist and ability to listen to us express
our feelings and thoughts through a rapidly changing time
table over the 1st 10-days of our courtship was truly remarkable.
She is truly a special employee and I hope you will recognize
her fine qualities. I attribute Tatyana's engagement to me
directly from her interfaced involvement with us. If you give
bonuses to anyone of your staff please recognize her most
for her role with my case. Thank you for her time.
Best regards, Benjamin M.
Note: Captain the USA Air Force Benjamin M. and Tatiana M.,
the foreign languages entrepreneur from Sochi were married
in Seattle, WA, in the USA on the 25th of November 2004! Read
